While loving on the people in Riverton, the outreach team came upon a woman working at the gas station. One of the team members noticed the name on the woman's name badge and asked if they could pray for her and if she had anything she needed prayer for. She replied, "Oh, well, how much time do you have?" The team replied, "We are here today to pray." The woman opened up and started to share how her son just got out of jail and the prayer needs surrounding that situation. She continued to share and the team decided to pray right there where they were at. They surrounded her with love and began praying over her and released God's love over her and the situation. She said, "Wow, I just did not know that somebody would pray for me right now, this is really good." It was clear she felt loved and cared for.
Meet Catie and Chad Reay. They have three beautiful children. They would like to share a story that is close to their hearts with you. Catie almost died while giving birth to their middle child. A specialist gave them the report at that time that she would no longer be able to carry children. However, much to their delight, Catie found out she was pregnant for a third time. Her specialist told her, "I cannot support the continuing of this pregnancy. Here are some options for termination. I highly suggest you discuss this with your spouse as I believe terminating this pregnancy will save your life." She was handed a few pamphlets to clinics that would perform the abortion for her. The specialist continued, "Due to the complications from your previous pregnancy, you are guaranteed to stroke out and die 60% of the way through the pregnancy, and if anything, it is possible you could throw a blood clot before then, which would leave you needing a lifetime of rehab." Together, as a couple, they wept (a lot) and prayed. They became prayer warriors over her health and the health of their unborn child. They believed that God was the God of healing and was more powerful than the fear of death. They had several people lay hands on her body and prayers were prayed over the entire pregnancy. When she surpassed the 60% mark, they were not surprised. They were confident God was hearing how loud their faith was. When she made it to 90%, they felt the Lord's presence every time they had a concern for their child or Catie's health. At 99%, they delivered Noah, a beautiful, happy, filled-with-life, joyful baby boy. Our God is the strongest. He is the ultimate physician, even when fear is instilled in us with a negative diagnosis. Their son is proof that the chains of fear do not have to dictate life or death.
Once a month, the outreach team goes out into the streets of Casper to love on the community and share the goodness of God's love with the people. It was a beautiful warm summer evening, when the team went out to the newer part of North Casper. During their adventure, a couple of the team members met a lady, and quickly discovered that she spoke Spanish. One of the members stepped forward and began to speak and minister to her in Spanish. He then asked if they could also pray for her. She was happy to receive prayer and he began praying. As he continued to pray, another team member stood next to him and laid his hands upon him. While his team mate was praying he looked over and saw the woman's daughter sitting on the couch. He then received a word of knowledge and heard the Lord tell him to ask her if she was having relationship problems with her friends. After they were done praying, he turned to the daughter and said, "The Lord told me to ask you if you are having relationship problems with your friends, or a friend." The girl was astonished at the question and with excitement in her voice asked, "Oh my God, how did you know that?" He was then able to share with her that God loves and cares about her so much, that He sent the team over to pray for her and her relationship. She was amazed at the goodness of God, and that He showed up and was able to encounter that relationship for her.
Robin Wood a beloved friend of the HOPE family who loves to play tennis, was delighted to find himself healed after receiving prayer for his knee. During a previous visit to HOPE one of our elders, Carrie Parrish, prayed for his left knee and God completely healed it. On Robin's last visit to HOPE he had Carrie pray for his right knee and he was able to play a tennis pro, pain free, to a tie break in the set. Praise God, both of Robin's knees have been healed!
